Dream Big and Bigger

Dream big and bigger  – a philosophy that has worked well for a number of successful people including: Meghan Markle, Brad Pitt, Oprah Winfrey and Clint Eastwood.

Let’s start with the former Meghan Markle who decided that she’d like to meet a royal. After expressing her wishes to a friend, a blind date arranged and the rest is history.

Brad Pitt, born in Oklahoma, moved to Missouri as a young child, eventually packed his bags to pursue his love of films in Los Angeles where he worked odd jobs – limo driver, furniture mover and mascot for El Pollo Loco – to support himself and pay for acting classes. His advice, “…Think Big!” I recall hearing a quote in which he said, “,,, if you don’t think you’ll make it, you probably won’t.”

And Oprah Winfrey, although born outside wealth and privilege, hard work, intellect and an aggressive laser focused pursuit of big goals have lead to recognition as “…the world’s most powerful woman by CNN.”  Today, Oprah, a self-made billionaire, manages a media empire that includes a book club, a magazine and the Oprah Winfrey Network, OWN. As Oprah has said, “Passion is energy. Feel the power that comes from focusing on what excites you.”

And iconic Clint Eastwood. Zowie! At ninety-one years old, he continues to bedazzle and tell a meaningful mesmerizing story in Cry Macho as an actor, producer and director. And yes he’s still in the saddle! And as Clint Eastwood has said, “If I was not a dreamer, I would have achieved nothing.” On a personal level, as a long-time equestrian, I’ve just re-set my horsey retirement date from seventy-five to ninety-one.
