Plenty – My Personal Favorite Novel of the Fifty Shades of Mystery, Moxie and Suspense Series

Perfect for fans of Dragon Tattoo thrills, Fast and Furious Action and Hunger Games Suspense? Yes.

Two events led to the creation of Plenty, my second Suspense novel.  First – the success of Fifty Shades of Grey. Feminist fury lit the fire. As Rich Lowry of the New York Post wrote: “…“Fifty Shades” is a version of the age-old Boy Meets Girl story, except the Boy is a dangerous creep…” https://nypost.com/2015/02/16/50-shades-an-anti-feminist-juggernaut/ I had to call out this trilogy for what it represents: sugarcoated sadism. A young virgin for a rich sadist love story with a Happily Ever Ending. Yuck! Really?

While I cringed reading Fifty Shades of Grey, Fast and Furious films elevated a day. And The Hunger Games enthralled me.

Second – an enraged bookstore customer who pushed me to do more. While at Barnes & Noble stores to promote Beautiful Evil Winter, a middle-aged brunette approached me. She said, “You write about adopting a baby someone gave-up for adoption. Maybe, you should write about someone like my beloved teenage daughter!” She looked into the distance, lost in her thoughts. She balled her fists.

Then, she glared at me. She continued – “Traffickers targeted her and took her from me! Do you know how that happens? Do you know how traffickers tame and train these kids? If they resist, they beat them-up and then rape them. They force them to use drugs. Don’t you think people should know? Do you even know at what age children become targets? Age 12. On average, do you know how long these kids live once trafficked? I’ll tell you – seven years. Why? Starvation, shame, grief, torture, forced drug use, burns, broken bones, concussions, mutilations and infections.”

Knockout punch! Teary-eyed, I said, “I promise I w…on’t forget you. I strive to write Meaningful Fiction.” In that moment, I knew I had to change Plenty. After all, someone may benefit from knowing what this mother had to say.

After all, adolescence ushers in a bonfire of change. Peer acceptance trumps parental perception for better or worse. Physical changes and raging hormones become the new reality. Adding to the combustive mix – the human brain. It isn’t fully formed until age 25. Easy to make life-changing mistakes. Easy to trust the wrong person.

Certainly, overjoyed to deliver an Award-Winning Best Selling Suspense novel that, above all delivers, on a promise of Meaningful Fiction. Passion powers the pen the writes the words today and everyday.

By the way, I just finished my third novel. So proud of the Mystery Suspense novel already described as “Superb Entertainment”. More about that later.
